Being content can mean a lot of things and often, it's positive. I think we all strive to at least be content with our lives. Or even simply content in the moment. One thing to keep in mind in marketing is not to be content. Speaking of not being content, did my tie die background draw your attention? Good! Below are are few reasons to keep your content fresh. Be Found!Like I state on my website, if you don't know what SEO is, your website is probably in need of it! There's a million things you can do to help you search engine optimization and rank higher in the results. Did you know that one of them is updating your content? It's not enough to make a business website and just let it sit there for years (same goes for social media. You need to do more than have it, you need to USE it). I often say websites are like a living art project, not an oil painting. Like Cadillac Ranch on Route 66 (one of my favorite stops on Route 66!) your site should constantly be changing, even if it's just slightly. That means updating graphics, creating blog posts, adding testimonials, and anything else that makes sense for your business. Be Different!Marketing is a creative industry and in order to stand out you have to content that is unique and other want to like, share, and comment on. So use it as an opportunity to be unique and try something new. If your competitors aren't doing something similar that doesn't mean it's not a good idea. It means its a NEW idea! If it's consistent with your brand, go for it. Maybe a Facebook ad or print ad isn't the best idea for your company.Let's say you're a gardening company. Rather than use standard business cards, you could use business cards that have seeds in the paper. This would be a conversation piece and sets you apart from the competition. Once your potential customers save your information, they can bury the card and up pops flowers! Thinking outside the box can be hard, which is why setting aside a little extra brainstorming time is always a good thing. Be There!Like I wrote above, it's not enough to have social media, you have to use it. That means posting on a regular basis, responding to comments, and liking others content as well. Like with most things in life, you can always do more. So set aside time each day to be present on social media and increase your weekly posts. It will help you get noticed! Make sure, as always, you're staying relevant to your brand as well and not posting an article or graphic that could be seemly out of left field. In this digital age, our society is used to instant gratification. So what's better than responding to a comment almost instantly, or at the very least, the same day. Customers like to know you're easy to reach in case they have questions. Remember that you can always be doing more with you content. Posting more, being more creative, and increasing your SEO. So keep up the good work and don't be content with you content!
